Throwback Thursday!

Throwback Thursday!

This week I am taking you back to Summer 2006.
My parents took me to stay in Cumbernauld, so we could visit the Falkirk Wheel and we also travelled over to Dunoon for the Highland Games!

First up is the Falkirk Wheel, We even got to go it, which was a different experience for me as it was the first time I had been on a canal.

The Falkirk Wheel.

Wheel.

The Wheel is a boat lift that connects the Forth and Clyde Canal to the Union Canal.

It opened in 2002, connecting the two Canals for the first time since the 1930's.

Wheel going up!

Wheel back down!

It was a fab day, unfortunately I haven't been back.

The following day we decided to go over to Dunoon on the ferry from Port Glasgow!

Port Glasgow.

Dunoon.

Mum on the Ferry.

Looking back at Port Glasgow.

Mum and Dad on the Ferry.

Me with Port Glasgow in back ground.

The Dunoon Highland Games are the first that I can actually recall.

The main thing that caught my eye at the Games was the Birds of Prey.

Snowy Owl!

They had all the information about where all the owls came from and what their diet was.

They also had displays with Barn Owls! (Which are my Favourite!)

They also had Classic Cars on display too.

My Top 3!

My Top 3!

This Week I am sharing with you my favourite Disney Princesses!

3.) Cinderella!

Ever since I was a little girl I have loved Cinderella, I think it is partly because I feel sorry for the character because of the way she is treated by her family. I also think it is because I am happy she got her perfect and happy ending.
I think I like her so much because she has singing mice! Also I think it is because when I was little I felt like Cinderella when my mum asked me to do the dusting haha!

2.) Merida!

Ok, with this choice I may be a bit bias because I am Scottish and I am so glad to see that they finally made a film about a Scottish Disney Princess!
I love that she is independent and free from men! That the only person she actually needs is her mother!
She looks after herself and defends herself well!

Big Reveal!

1.) Belle!

My main reasons for choosing Belle as my number one is because I see so much of myself in her!
I love books just like her! Again she is a strong independent female even when she does get her Prince.  I have loved her since I was a wee girl and I even tortured my Dad with Beauty and the Beast at least 3 times a week growing up haha!
Belle will always be my number one and I look forward to see Emma Watson's live action portrayal.

My London Adventure!

My London Adventure!

Part 16: Buckingham Palace.

This week I'm sharing my wee trip to Buckingham Palace, Which I had been planning to go inside and have a look around, but alas! The only tour tie that was left was 5.30pm and when I arrived it was 3.10pm. So I just left it as I wanted to be back to my cousin's house before 8pm.

Anyways, seeing the outside still satisfied me haha!

Buckingham Palace.

The picture above was taken as I was coming out of St James' park.

Gates Leading to Green Park.

Queen Victoria Monument.

The Victoria Memorial was created by sculptor Sir Thomas Brock in 1911 and erected in front of the main gates at Buckingham Palace on a surround constructed by architect Sir Aston Webb.

Queen Victoria Monument again!

Queen Victoria was the first Monarch to reside at Buckingham Palace. Her Predecessor King William IV died before it was completed.

The east wing of Buckingham Palace, the public façade, enclosing the courtyard, was a later addition, built between 1847 and 1850; it was remodeled to its present form in 1913. (Shown in Photo Below!)
