My Cardiff Adventure: Around Cardiff!

Hello again! This is a mini series from my trip to Cardiff back in July! So in this post I'll be posting photos from a few places I visited in my short time down in Wales!

Here goes with a mini tour around Cardiff in the glorious sunshine!

Ok, I think the best place to start is with me waking up at 4.30 am in my hotel room in Edinburgh to this lovely view (Image below!)

Edinburgh!

Me and My Friend Sarah's flight was at 8.35am on the Friday morning, so it was an early start for us!

We arrived into Cardiff Airport for 10am, so plenty of time for us to get to our Hostel and then go sightseeing!

Cardiff Airport, while waiting on the bus to the Train Station!

Arriving off the train into Cardiff!

The first lot of sightseeing photos were taken from our first day!

Many of you may recognise two familiar spots that we visited, especially if you are diehard Torchwood fans like us!!!

We had a wonder out to Cardiff Bay to Roald Dahl Plass, saw The Millennium Centre and the Water Tower!

The Millennium Centre from afar!

Millennium Centre!

They are currently changing the Plass, so in most of my next photos I have horrible metal barriers in the background! Boo! Haha!

The Water Tower.

The Water Tower was used as an entrance for Torchwood Base in Cardiff and was named for a while the Torchwood Tower!

After our excitement of being close to where Captain Jack Harness has been, we decided to move on and have a look out over the bay!

I was fascinated by the structure of the Pierhead Building, which is part of the estate that belongs to the National Assembly of Wales. I love the Gothic structure around the outside of the building!

Pierhead Building!

The building is Grade 1 listed and the clock is unofficially known as 'Baby Big Ben' or 'Big Ben of Wales.' It was built in 1897 as a replacement building for the Bute Dock Company, after their building was burnt down in 1892.

We then carried on round to the National Assembly of Wales, but I didn't stop all that long as Sarah was in a hurry for something else, Which I will share with you in a later post haha!!

National Assembly of Wales.

Walking around the edge of the bay was lovely, and so relaxing! It only took us 20 minutes to Walk to Cardiff Bay from the City Centre! It was well worth the visit.

The next structure I came across, I wasn't sure what it was to begin with but as I walked further away from it, I eventually saw a face!

At first I thought it was a shipwreck, then I saw the face!

The next two photos were taken from the front door of our Hostel, which was situated right across the river from the Millennium Stadium!!

This is the last picture from our first day in Cardiff, Walkabout, where we met up with some friends of ours who were also down in Cardiff! It was a fab night in there partying Aussie Style!!

Now onto day 2! Another post will follow about most of my second day in Cardiff, but here are a few snaps from that morning!

Clock Tower of Cardiff Castle.

Cardiff Castle!

Entrance to Cardiff Castle.

We didn't go into Cardiff Castle because we didn't have much time to do so. I settled for having my photo  taken outside it haha!

But I can tell you that Cardiff Castle was build in the late 11th Century, and is an original Motte and Bailey Castle.

Me outside Cardiff Castle!

Now on to my last day, We had a little bit of time to kill before going to the airport, so we had a wonder through the city centre and I was lucky enough to come across the Webb Ellis Cup, The Rugby World Cup was on tour! So I got all excited and queued up to have my photo taken with it!

Me with Webb Ellis Cup!!

These last two photos were my last glimpses of Cardiff Bay on the way to the airport!

I had the time of my life down there and I can safely say I will go back as soon as I can!!

Thanks for Reading!
