May 25th: 1895, Oscar Wilde was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment for gross indecency/ Sodomy, Homosexuality was a major criminal offense at that time in Britain.
 
May 26th: 1896, The Last Tsar of Russia, Nicholas II was crowned.
 
May 27th: 1703, St Petersburg (Changed to Leningrad in 1924, but changed back to St Petersburg in 1991) was founded by Russian Tsar Peter the Great.
 
May 28th: 1660, Birth of George I. Born in Hanover, Germany. He was the King of England from 1714 to 1727.
May 29th: 1884, Irish writer Oscar Wilde married Constance Lloyd at St. James Church, Paddington, London.
