Davison, suffragette, died after being trampled by a horse. She was aged 40.
Her cause of death, by internal injuries and a fractured skull.

Birth of one of my favourite actresses, Judy
Garland, who was born Frances Gumm, in Minnesota. Probably most famous for the
Wizard of Oz.

King Henry VIII married Catherine of Aragon, his first wife, but who was also
his brother’s widow. They were married at Greenwich Church, Henry had not long
turned 18 and Catherine was 23.

12th: 1929,
Birth of Anne Frank. Born in
Frankfurt Germany. In 1942, she received her diary as a birthday present.

13th: 1731,
Birth of Martha Washington.
Born in Kent County, Virginia. She was the 1st US First Lady (1789-97)

Arnold, a Revolutionary War general, died in London at the age of 60.
