June 8th: 1913, Emily Davison, suffragette, died after being trampled by a horse. She was aged 40. Her cause of death, by internal injuries and a fractured skull.
 
June 9th: 1934, the first Donald Duck cartoon, called Wise Little Hen was released.
 
June 10th: 1922, Birth of one of my favourite actresses, Judy Garland, who was born Frances Gumm, in Minnesota. Probably most famous for the Wizard of Oz.

June 11th: 1509, King Henry VIII married Catherine of Aragon, his first wife, but who was also his brother’s widow. They were married at Greenwich Church, Henry had not long turned 18 and Catherine was 23.
 
June 12th: 1929, Birth of Anne Frank. Born in Frankfurt Germany. In 1942, she received her diary as a birthday present.
 
June 13th: 1731, Birth of Martha Washington. Born in Kent County, Virginia. She was the 1st US First Lady (1789-97)

June 14th: 1801, Benedict Arnold, a Revolutionary War general, died in London at the age of 60.
