Robert Baden-Powell formed the Boy Scouts in England.

30th: 1818, Birth of Emily Brontë. Who was an
English novelist, she was best known for Wuthering Heights. She was born in
Thornton, West Yorkshire.

Belgium during the First World War.

1st: 1834, Slavery
was abolished throughout the British Empire. The Slavery Abolition Act 1833
came into effect.
