A Guesting Top 5!

Top 5: Vampires

This Week I have Tanya from Tanya’s Tea Party guesting! Which I send her a big thank you for doing my first ever guest post! :) So here is her Post!

Hi all,

So I have been asked by Claire over at Genius Vs Beauty to do a guest post J how exciting. It is a Top 5 post in place of her Top 3, now I had some trouble picking what to do! After a lot of Deliberation and research, I have decided on something I have been passionate about for as long as I can remember. Vampires J.

Now this list is of vampires portrayed in TV and film, it was a lot to think about! It is amazing how many portrayals of Dracula and Vampires alike there are! Makes this top 5 very tricky, but fun in a way.

So lets begin at 5, now I am going by what I have watched.

5. Blade, Blade 1998 – Wesley Snipes

So first up at 5 is Blade, he is such a bad ass, he had to be included in my top five. I really like that he is a vampire but hunts other vampires to protect humans, and he can walk in the sun without sparkling!!  I can watch Blade films over and over and never be bored, the fight scenes are always epic J.

4. Damon Salvatore, The Vampire Diaries 2009-present – Ian Somerhalder

Many of you may think this choice is a bit crap! But Damon is amazing, I read the books first and to be honest Ian does a great job playing him. Damon rules over Edward any day! I love this character because although he seems like the bad guy at times he is one of the good guys. Also has that bad guy side when it’s needed xD. I have always rooted for Damon over his brother Stefan and love watching his storyline develop.

3. Spike, Buffy The Vampire Slayer 1997-2003 – James Marsters

I think Spike might be where I fell in love with vampires to start with!  Spike embodies what I love in a vampire, He is a typical bad vampire, who kills people but he also has a good heart. I love how he got his nickname, formally named William, he acquired the nickname for his preferred method of torturing people with railroad spikes! I do like a good villain turns hero story. Plus after meeting James Marsters, my love for Spike has returned after many years.

2. Count Dracula, Dracula Untold 2014 – Luke Evans

It was such a hard decision for the 2nd spot, Dracula from Van Helsing was in the mix, as was Dracula from Bram Stokers Dracula but I really like the fresh take on Dracula they used in Dracula Untold. Luke Evans makes a great Dracula and I really enjoyed a different side of Dracula. I like that he decided to acquire vampire powers to save his kingdom and his son. For a modern vampire film I was impressed they pulled of a good film, most modern remakes, if you could call it a remake, don't have the same feel as older classics. However I really thought this film was one of the good ones J.

 THE REVEAL

1. Lestat De Lioncourt, Interview with a Vampire 1994 – Tom Cruise

This was a hard decision but I have chosen Lestat from Interview with a Vampire apposed to Lestat from Queen of The Damned. I think this Lestat has a lot more to the character and embodies Lestat better, plus the story has a lot more to it then Queen of the Damned. As much as I love Lestat played by Stuart Townsend, I am disappointed that Lestat was quite different from the Tom Cruise Lestat. A vampire set in the past is one of the best types and I like how it shows the story through time. I do wish there was a sequel about what happened when Lestat returned at the end, instead of a film that isn’t really connected. I am happy that the Vampire Chronicles is getting made into films again :D. I hope they do it justice.

Well that is my top 5 vampires. It was such a hard pick and even now, I am thinking of other vampires and wanting to change my whole list! I hope you enjoyed my guest post and check out my blog for more posts.

Thank you to Claire for having me J

Toodles xx
